Using plants to Clean Indoor Air pollutants
Newly constructed or tightly sealed buildings, which were built with heating and cooling efficiencies in mind, are prime candidates for "sick building syndrome". Tenants can experience respiratory irritations, coughing, sore throats and difficulty breathing. Headaches and frequent illnesses have also been reported in "sick buildings".

New buildings or recently remodeled buildings are prone to emit indoor toxins. New paint, carpets, furniture, newly stained or sealed woods and plastics... release large amounts of chemicals into the interior environment. Copiers, inks and some cleaning supplies also release fumes... all of which can be detected for up to one year.

The Dr. Wolverton study has tested the following major indoor pollutants and found that most ornamental indoor plants can help clean the air of at least one type of toxin. Some indoor plants have the ability to remove the three most common toxins, although most plants are not able to remove high levels of all three toxins.

Dr. Wolverton's NASA research recommends placing one ornamental indoor plant per 100 square feet of office space. Select large leafy plants and mix plant species to combat the full range of toxins.

Yes. We have available all of the plants proven to remove indoor toxins. We generally use several of these species on every project we install. We also have many other varieties of beautiful indoor plants in all sizes and shapes that we can combine with the clean air plants.
